Music Buddy - The Ultimate Musician's Learning Tool

Once upon a time I built and sold music learning apps on the App Stores. The main thing I learned is that I'm a lot better and building Apps than selling them. I eventually abandoned that effort, and all that source code languished in Git for years.

Fast forward to six months ago. I tried using AI to munge all these apps into a single web App, which I could offer for free, and lo and behold it worked like a charm. And now we have Music Buddy.

Analyze Songs

This is my favorite feature. I use it all the time. Upload an audio file, and Music Buddy will show you the audio signal and let you select looping regions, where you can slow down that section without changing the pitch. You can click on song sections, measures, and beats to set looping regions, or set them manually. When you click on a region, you'll see the chord notes, the chord notes on the guitar fretboard in all locations and inversions, and even a grid that shows how the notes in the region evolve over time.
